Team BlackSheep is notorious for long distance records, low to the ground flying in the Alps and deep urban missions. During our numerous missions around the globe, we compiled a list of requirements and found that no existing system could cover them all. So we embarked on a long and painful journey to develop an RC connection system from scratch. We put it through its paces for over a year to ensure the highest reliability and state-of-the-art functionality.

You can monitor your drone's real-time position via the OLED display on the transmitter (TBS GPS or BlackBox with DJI Naza or APM-based GPS required). The uplink and downlink status provides a sense of security, and the configuration options via the OLED display eliminate the need for any PC-based configuration tools. The pulsing LED indicates your link budget and link health in colored form (green = continue, orange = turn around). In the event of a crash, the drone's position is also visible on the OLED. The receiver's built-in battery automatically turns it into a beacon - and it continues to transmit its last known position until the battery dies.

It just works
Aside from its unmatched maximum range, what we're most proud of with the TBS CROSSFIRE is that it just works. In the past, our question was always, 'Could our R/C link keep up?' Many missions were aborted or no lines were flown because the R/C link failed prematurely. When we switched to the CROSSFIRE, all those problems were gone. As long as we had video, we were in control. And when the video was gone, we still had control - and telemetry. With the TBS CROSSFIRE, you can rest easy.
