Product description

The TBS Tango 2 Lite Module Slot Add-On expands the TBS Tango 2 remote control with an additional slot for external Lite-format transmitter modules. This allows you to use additional radio protocols via compatible modules in addition to the integrated Crossfire system, without having to replace the existing remote control.

The module slot attaches to the back of the transmitter and connects to the internal main board via a flexible FPC ribbon cable. The black plastic housing blends seamlessly into the Tango 2’s design and provides a compact mount for compatible Nano or Lite transmitter modules.

For installation, the transmitter housing must be opened and a small opening created for the connection cable. The add-on is compatible exclusively with Tango 2 mainboards from revision V006H onward. For older models, an upgrade of the mainboard may be required.

Warning: Batch 1 of the Tango 2 was shipped without module slot support. Before purchasing this add-on, please make sure that a connector (shown in the images above) is present. Upgrade PCBs (V3) are available to retrofit Batch 1 Tango 2 units with this feature!

If you open your Tango 2 in the future, you will also need to open the module slot and remove the flexible circuit board from its socket.

Installation

1. Install the FPC cable onto the circuit board.
2. Lift the latch with the blue side facing up, slide the cable in, and lock it in place by pushing the latch down.
3. Route the cable through the bottom and insert the circuit board into the module slot.
4. Rotate the module bay to ensure everything fits properly.
5. Secure the housing with the 2 screws provided.
6. Use a Dremel, a knife, or a soldering tip to cut a small hole along the contour.
7. Slide the flexible circuit board through the drilled housing.
8. Clean the back and secure the Tango 2 module slot with tape.
9. Plug the FPC cable into the socket.
10. Close the Tango 2 enclosure, and you're done!
