This Lumenier frame was designed in collaboration with world-renowned FPV expert Joshua Bardwell to bring you the "perfect" FPV freestyle frame. Based on the success of the QAV-S series, the QAV-S 2 takes it a step further with an optimized design to save weight, an X-Lock arm mechanism for added strength and rigidity, an aluminum FPV camera mount, an injection molded GoPro mount, O3 compatibility and much more!
Features
The QAV-S 2 is a 5-inch freestyle frame that is ultra-durable, easy to work with and precisely tuned for performance and the best flight feel. The QAV-S 2 has many thoughtful details - including high-quality Lumenier carbon fiber with finished and beveled edges on all panels and colored 7075 aluminum spacers that give the quad a sleek look.
Innovations: The QAV-S 2 comes with several innovations. The first innovation is the arm locking system, which includes a hinge with a screw-in nut that secures the arms and requires only one screw to replace the arm. This is particularly practical for maintenance work. The second feature is a split bottom plate that provides enough space for a micro camera while reducing the rear deck space for components. Finally, the QAV-S has 2 isolated mounting points for 20x20 and 30x30 in the center (and 20x20 in the rear), allowing you to take care of your electronics stack without having to change the frame structure and overall setup.
X-Lock mechanism: The QAV-S 2 introduces a new lateral X-Lock arm system. This all-aluminum arm locking system improves the design of the QAV-S in terms of both rigidity and ease of use. It provides dual-axis clamping that is mechanically isolated from the main plates and flight controller stack. The new locking system also allows the arms to be folded with just one screw, making transportation easier.
Aluminum FPV camera plates: The new FPV camera mounting solution provides excellent camera protection and support for a variety of cameras. The use of a unique locking system allows for minimal hardware and strengthens the front end while keeping the weight low.
Injection molded GoPro mount: The QAV-S 2 uses the same GoPro mounting pattern as other Lumenier frames and allows a durable injection molded GoPro mount to be attached with a single screw.
Backwards compatible mounting pattern: For those who wish to continue using printed GoPro and antenna mounts, the QAV-S 2 retains the same mounting pattern and spacer arrangement. All mounts for the previous QAV-S* and Bardwell Special Edition frames will fit without modification.
*QAV-S JohnnyFPV Special Edition brackets are not compatible.
O3 compatible brackets: The rear plate has M1.6 mounting holes to allow direct mounting of the O3 air unit to the frame. This frame can also accommodate the Vista/Walksnail/Analog system in the rear mounting orientation. (HDZero works in the center mounting orientation with FC or ESC in the rear)
